In celebration of the triathlon world championships 2016 on The Big Island of Hawai`i, Bike Works Kona, DeSoto & Punakai have come together to create a collectors edition Team Kit that reflects the collective Mana brought together once a year on the Hawai`ian Aina. The design duo behind Punakai were inspired to share their love of the land of Hawai`i by honoring Aloha Ke Akua, a sacred Hawai`ian blessing that reflects giving thanks for our shared breath and our love for life. Symbolic Polynesian tribal forms represent mana, spiritual power and strength, as represented by the male/female faces at center breathing Aloha, the balance of breath. The repeating patterns that circle the faces represent protection for Ohana (Family). The Polynesian wave here represents Oceans life force and persistence. The final outer circle’s triangles are a direct representation of Aloha Aina, the love and repect for the land. May YOU enjoy each breath and celebration of mana on Hawai`i.
